If you’ve lived in your home for several years, you’ve probably experienced it.

Nothing is necessarily wrong with your bathroom. The shower still works. The tub still fills. The cabinets still hold everything they’re supposed to.

But every morning, you walk into the room and think…

“I wish this space felt different.”

That was the starting point for this primary bathroom remodel.

While the existing bathroom offered plenty of square footage, the finishes had become dated, the oversized jacuzzi tub dominated the room, and the overall design no longer reflected the homeowners’ style or the quality of the rest of their home. Rather than simply replacing a few fixtures, they chose to invest in a complete luxury primary bathroom remodel that would transform the room into a bright, functional retreat they could enjoy for years to come.

Looking Beyond Cosmetic Updates

One of the biggest misconceptions about remodeling is that it’s only about making a room look nicer.

Beautiful finishes are certainly important, but the best remodels begin behind the walls.

Before installing a single piece of tile, our team carefully removed the existing flooring, shower, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and trim. We reworked portions of the framing to support the new shower layout, added blocking for future grab bars, updated the plumbing, relocated electrical where needed, and installed a complete Schluter waterproofing system beneath the new shower.

These aren’t the glamorous parts of a remodel, but they’re the foundation that ensures the finished bathroom performs just as well as it looks.

A Custom Walk-In Shower That Becomes the Focal Point

One of the most dramatic changes in this remodel is the new custom walk-in shower.

The homeowners selected large-format marble-look porcelain tile that immediately makes the space feel larger and more luxurious. By using oversized tiles, grout lines are minimized, creating a cleaner appearance while allowing the natural veining of the tile to become the focal point.

The shower also features:

  • A custom waterproof Schluter shower system
  • A recessed niche for convenient storage
  • Frameless glass enclosure
  • Warm brushed gold fixtures
  • Coordinating mosaic shower floor tile for added texture and slip resistance

The result is a shower that feels open, timeless, and designed specifically for the way the homeowners use the space every day.

Thoughtful Design Throughout the Entire Bathroom

While the shower naturally draws attention, every element of this remodel was carefully considered.

Warm wood cabinetry introduces natural texture and balances the lighter finishes throughout the room. Quartz countertops, updated mirrors, modern lighting, and large-format porcelain floor tile create a cohesive design that feels elegant without being overly trendy.

The existing jacuzzi tub was replaced with a freestanding soaking tub that instantly opens the room and creates a more relaxing focal point. Rather than overwhelming the space, the tub now complements it.

Even the private toilet room received updated flooring and finishes, ensuring every part of the bathroom feels connected.

Craftsmanship Is Often Hidden

One of our favorite details on this project isn’t something most visitors will ever notice.

Originally, the tub surround was planned to feature painted shiplap. During the project, however, the homeowners decided to upgrade to custom finished panels.

Why?

Because those panels are removable.

Hidden magnetic latches allow future access to the plumbing beneath the tub without requiring demolition or damaging finished materials.

It’s a small detail that reflects how we approach every remodel.

We believe great craftsmanship means thinking beyond today’s finished product and considering how the space will function ten or even twenty years from now.

Remodeling That Balances Beauty and Function

A successful bathroom remodel should do more than look beautiful in photos.

It should improve how your home functions every single day.

For this project, that meant creating a bathroom that feels brighter, easier to maintain, more functional, and significantly more relaxing than the original space.

The homeowners now have a bathroom that fits their lifestyle while adding lasting value to their home.
