Some projects feel exciting from day one – and this was one of them. The existing layout had great potential, but the heavy bulkhead and large dividing wall made the kitchen and living room feel closed off and visually compressed. By removing both elements, we were able to completely reshape the space and take full advantage of the home’s vaulted ceilings.
The transformation was immediate. Opening the sightlines between the kitchen, dining area, and living room created a brighter, more spacious flow that feels modern, welcoming, and ideal for daily living or hosting.
Throughout the main floor, we installed COREtec luxury vinyl plank flooring, added fresh paint, and finished the home with clean craftsman-style trim for a cohesive and airy feel. The previous hinged laundry-room door created a tight pinch point, so we replaced it with a smooth-sliding barn door that tucks neatly out of the way.
The kitchen is now a stunning focal point. New cabinetry, quartz surfaces, and thoughtful layout changes bring both beauty and functionality. One of our favorite design moments is the statement backsplash, highlighted with the homeowner’s choice of ‘Starry Night’ blue grout – a custom detail that brings personality and charm to the space.
The end result is a light, open, and thoughtfully designed home that finally matches the potential we saw from the beginning.
